Camisoles and Inner Slips. Why Wear Them?

So. why wear a camisole or an inner slip, you may ask? What purpose does it serve and how best to wear it? 

These are undergarment items. A camisole is a sleeveless blouse like top that usually covers up to the top of your hips, meanwhile an inner slip, or full slip, as some may call it, is more of a dress like inner layer that covers your hips down to your thighs. 

Camisoles and inner slips serve multiple functions and different women have found different purposes for it to complement their favourite outfits! 

Here are some ways to pair your camisoles and/ or inner slips: 

1. Camisoles are often worn as comfortable layering shirts, they work well to sit comfortably against your skin and protect you from rougher surfaces of some outerwear styles.
2. Not opting for a seamless bra and panty today? We've found that camisoles or inner slips serve well to conceal visible panty lines (VPL) and bra lines, too! Just wear it over your favourite bra and panty and you're good to go!
3. Love a see-through blouse, but not quite ready to bare all? A camisole can be layered under the sheer blouse to give you an additional layer over your skin, an also serves to help you keep you warm! As they often come in neutral tones - in nude, black and white, these colours palettes can be worn under any top.
4. Camisoles and inner slips are also usually body hugging and may offer a light support and sculpt for your body. They usually do not have as firm a hold as shapewear, but they should are less restrictive and more comfortable if you'll be moving around a lot! Some camis also have in-built bra cups, and they make convenient 2-in-1's but may not sculpt as well as your favourite bra does.
5. Often struggle with static cling with some dress materials? We've had this plenty of times before and found inner slips or camis to be the perfect tip! Camisoles and inner slips act as great barriers or buffers against static cling from your dress. No more awkward static cling to your body and thighs!

Though they are often used as inner layers, camisoles may also be worn alone, and styled with your favorite jewelry! If you'll be wearing your camisole as an outer layer, do start by picking the right bra, that will disguise under your camisole! This usually means a bra of the same colour, a strapless bra, or a bra with thin straps and a seamless bra! 
7. Or, style your camisole under your favourite jacket or jeans. Camisoles are great complimentary pieces to style with your favourite statement piece and in neutral tones, they surely won't draw attention away from your stylish piece!
