Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2022

With a brand promise to educate, guide and offer women the perfect fit and comfort through our wide selection of bras, it is also part of our obligation at XIXILI to create and share awareness on topics that affect our community most. Since the founding of the brand, Pinktober has been an annual campaign at XIXILI. Driving for a cause that is known to affect 1 in 20 women across all ethnic groups in Malaysia, we have mostly focused our cause in promoting awareness to our community on how early detection can saves lives when it comes to breast cancer.

This year, whilst also pushing awareness through our collaborations with Breast Cancer Welfare Association, Signature Market, Mum’s Club and Cancer Research Malaysia, we have also turned our community’s attention to fund raising for Cancer Research Malaysia, a Malaysian non-profit organisation who are dedicated to saving lives through research of genetics and genomics to develop new cancer treatments and large scale global studies to find better ways of preventing and curing cancers, focusing especially on the Asian community.

In showing the support, XIXILI, in collaboration with Cancer Research Malaysia organized a Pink October Flash Mob. Held in four prominent shopping malls, namely Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Bangsar Village 2 and IOI City Mall, the event not only brought people together to dance but also provided a unique opportunity to raise fund for breast cancer research. With the convenience of a simple QR code, paricipants and onlookers were encourage to make donations and contribute to the cause. This joint effort not only raised awareness about breast cancer but also enabled the collections of the funds necessary for advancing research, supporting patients and promoting early detection initiatives. Watch the video here.

In addition to the successful Pink October Flash Mob, XIXILI also took another approach to raise awareness and educate customers. By having wobbler sticks in the fitting rooms across 30 boutiques and consignment stores, XIXILI has created an additional avenue to inform and engage customers in the vital work of Cancer Research Malaysia. It also serves a reminder of the significance of breast cancer awareness.

While customers try on lingerie and enjor their shopping experience, the wobbler stickers will invite the customers to learn more about the cause.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important time to educate and raise awareness about breast health and early detection. By providing customers with easy access to general information by Cancer Research Malaysia through XIXILI website.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women around the world and in Malaysia, too. In Malaysia, it affects 1 in 20 women across all ethnic groups. And a scientifically proven fact is that early detection of breast cancer can significantly decrease mortality rates. And so, with a brand promise to educate, guide and offer women the perfect fit and comfort through our wide selection of bras, it is also part of our obligation at XIXILI to care for our customers and community’s well-being and this in part includes keeping them informed on the disease that affects a great deal of women in our community, and in keeping all members of our community aware of what to look out for and what to do, in order to give all who are affected by the disease a fighting chance.

XIXILI would also like to thank Cancer Research Malaysia for providing information to everyone. Here are some of the images shared throughout the month.

Not to forget our XIXILI fans, we also had our social media giveaways with our crossword challenge and stand a chance to win 1 year supply of XIXILI Lingerie. Congratulations to our winner Ms Adriana Zamri.

We as a community are ever grateful for all the breast cancer warriors out there. It can’t be said enough. Early detection of breast cancer can save lives - the chance of recovery if the cancer is detected early before it progresses past the stages is extremely high. So, it is critical to be aware and informed on what to look out for, and how and whens to practice your examinations at home or with a doctor.

We are also thrilled to share that we raised RM8,000 for the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) from the sale of non-woven bags. This contribution will enable NCSM to provide highly subsidized and free screenings to the public.

Regular self-breast examinations are important for everyone. If you have any concerns or notice worrisome symptoms. Do not hesitate to seek early medical attention. Remember early detection saves life.
